Its Flexible product lets customers choose infrastructure, region, server size, caching, and add-ons, while Autonomous uses autoscaling and high-availability concepts. What makes Cloudways different
Cloudways manages cloud servers and WordPress tooling above selected infrastructure. Its current stack includes Nginx, PHP-FPM, Varnish, database caching options, Breeze, backups, and optional CDN services. The 2026 Lightning Stack changes the architecture of Flexible deployments, so tests of an older stack must not be relabeled as current.

Use a burst profile and a sustained profile. Report whether errors occur before scaling responds and whether performance remains stable during scale-in. Never combine Autonomous and Flexible results in one average.
Browser and field data
Run WebPageTest with fixed browser, device, network, and geography. Capture LCP, CLS, lab blocking time, waterfalls, and filmstrips. PageSpeed Insights field data, when available, represents real Chrome users over a trailing period.
Google’s good field targets include LCP at 2.5 seconds or less, INP at 200 milliseconds or less, CLS at 0.1 or less, and a rough good TTFB guide of 0.8 seconds or less.
Uptime protocol

Avoid misleading conclusions
Do not call a DigitalOcean result a universal Cloudways result. Do not compare a nearby Cloudways origin with a distant competitor, or Cloudways edge cache with an uncached origin. Do not omit CDN cost.
